Figure 2:  31P spectra from rat myocardium in situ.  Tallest peak corresponds to phosphocreatine (PCr).  The three downfield peaks correspond to the ?, ?, and ? phosphate of ATP, while the upfield peak corresponds to inorganic phosphate (Pi) and phosphomonoesters as well as phosphodiesters.
The spectra are from rat myocardium in situ:   A) control  B) dopamine stimulated  C) post dopamine stimulated  D)  left anterior descending (LAD) ligated heart.
The PCr/Pi ratio changes during dopamine stimulation and under LAD ligation, reflecting an alteration in cellular bioenergetics.
